This is a collection of beats & pieces formed over the last year. My first attempts at any music for about a decade, and the first full solo project I've ever released.

I've been messing about with the Maschine for about a year, usually during 2-4am headphone sessions, when normal people sleep. A year in, it feels time to draw a line under all these late-night sketches, demos & experiments, and just get them out there to y'all. Plus I need the hard drive space. And maybe a more regular body-clock.

As a DJ, I've always tried to include as many styles in my sets as possible, and in DJ sets, aside from the selection, it's all about the transition... the switch up...

Inevitably, as soon as I started making my own music, I brought those bad habits with me. Sonically, this is a fusion of instrumental hip hop, chill hop/future beats, jungle/d&b, trap, grime, bruk, jazz, soul/r&b & breakbeat. A lot of bass, a lot of synths, a lot of heavy drums. As with my radio shows & mixtapes of old, there's a lil' freestyle turntablism, a few blends, and sprinkles of sampled speech, comedy and bits. Some of it's there to make you think, some of it's there to sooth, some of it's there make you laugh, some of it's there to make you groove. Music's about moods, innit.
